About
Margaret Mansell grew up in Waterloo, Ontario. After graduating from the University of Waterloo and Sheridan College, she moved to Toronto in 2007. In the past, she has drawn graphics and comics for Imprint, the official University of Waterloo school newspaper.
Her recent circuit series of paintings is influenced by the technology she uses every day. Working from photos and real motherboards, she “knows the lines and patterns of the chips mean something and create the digital life we live in, but so many of us have no idea what the internal workings of our computers do.” She applies that lost meaning through abundant use of colour and design.
